Teaching Assistant Intern

General information:
Starting date: all year round
Duration: 2 - 6 months
Monthly allowance: unpaid
Location: Beijing, China
Daily Tasks:
- Teach English conversation classes to orphans attending our Education Program
- Work with teachers to plan activities/worksheets and lessons that focus on achieving teaching objectives
- Assist teachers in assessing students' academic progress
- Assist with online file organization
- Assist with office supplies organization
Requirements:
- Native-English speaker, preferably with American English accent
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Self-driven and pro-active
- Demonstrated interest in the area they work in (e.g. education, children, etc.)
- Very good communication and organization skills
- Experience in teaching, lesson planning or working with youths is highly appreciated
Remarks:
- The organization is very flexible regarding the internship position and willing to adapt it to the intern’s skills.
- There could be the possibility of working on curriculum development for creative arts, music, and/or sports programs.

This is a US-based non-profit organization dedicated to serving underprivileged children by placing them into families and providing them with education opportunities. The NGO carries out its vision of, “Every child deserves an education. Every child deserves a family,” through three main programs. The CONNECT Program aims to facilitate and improve the domestic adoption process for Chinese orphans. The DREAM program helps transition older orphans into society through life skills education, career training and counselling, Mandarin and English language training and computer skills development. The TALENT programs focus on providing creative arts and sports programs for migrant children, and training migrant school teachers in innovative teaching methods and concepts.
