As a Senior Specialist Cost Engineering you Support BMW worldwide purchase nomination process by achieving cost transparency and cost-competitiveness. You will contribute to targets of BMW worldwide cost engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Analysis of local factor costs (like labour, material, interests, space).
• Analysis of local supply markets, processes and technologies.
• Analysis local supply markets / tier-1 & tier – n suppliers, supplier map.
• Special projects (like tools, value stream analysis, cost audits).
• Evaluate and support negotiation on piece prices within our BMW worldwide purchase network.
• Support of local buyers on global-, local sourcing projects .
• Support of local buyers (BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.) on cost down projects.
• Support of suppliers for quotations – Quotation Analysis Form Trainings.

Qualification

• Bachelor or higher degree, graduated in electrical / mechanical / automotive engineering or similar educational background.
• Experience in either technical development, production-, process planning or quality.
• Experience in cost engineering at global automotive suppliers, Original Equipment Manufacturers or in other Hi-Tech industry.
• Intercultural experience and awareness.
• Experience in logistic or powertrain desired.
• Excellent MS Office skills (Excel).
• Business English fluent, German desired.
• Technical understanding of products, processes and tools.
• Substantial knowledge of major automotive component production processes.
• Competence of attending supplier evaluations and cost screenings.
• Explanation of BMW requirements to suppliers.
• Proficiency with negotiations, cost breakdown training for suppliers.
• High awareness of cost and quality.
