As an Assistant Manager Purchasing-Body and Exterior you ensure the proper implementation of all BMW Purchasing China related processes. You will be familiar with all Global Sourcing activities in Purchasing Asia. Furthermore you realize the substantial contribution in target achievement of Purchasing Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the BMW Purchasing process.
• Able to support suppliers in preparation of quotations.
• Good knowledge of the Chinese supplier base related to his responsible field.
• Able to evaluate new potential suppliers regarding the BMW tools.
• Represent purchasing related requirements in cooperation with partners in quality and logistics.
• Compilation and translation (Chinese to English/German) of all relevant documents.
• Analyze and check quotations to reach an effective level of cost transparency.
• Issue Request for Quotation documents to suppliers.

Qualification

• University degree in electrical / mechanical / automotive engineering or comparable educational background, economics background.
• Knowledge of production technologies according to the study field.
• Experience with in the field of Automotive industry -purchasing, Research & Development, quality management, production, sales or project management at global automotive suppliers, Original Equipment manufacturers or other Hi-Tech industry, 4-6 years experience
• Proficiency with negotiations, explaining BMW processes and Request for Quotation details, ability of Quotation Analysis Form training for suppliers mandatory.
• Excellent skills of software like MS-office and windows etc. .
• Proficient in business English.
• Technical understanding of processes at suppliers and explanation of BMW requirements
• Competence of attending supplier evaluations and project risk assessments.
• Ability to work in a team, assertiveness and very good communication skills, strong own initiative and proactiveness.
• Intercultural experience and awareness.
• Willingness to do domestic and international business traveling.
