As an Assistant Manager Parts Quality & Supplier Quality you are responsible for assuring product and process quality of supplied parts as well as for supporting the BMW AG Purchasing & Supplier Qualitiy Audit Departments on all Global Sourcing Activities in China related to parts quality and supplier quality management issues.

Key responsibilities

• Supplier Development.
• Quality evaluation within the Supplier Selection Process.
• Supplier visits for Supplier Pre-Selection, Supplier Project Assessments, Supplier Evaluations.
• Steering & monitoring of Global Sourcing Projects according to BMW Quality Processes (e.g. Risk Management Parts).
• Preparation and support for Process Series and Initial Sample Inspection Report -Procedure (PPAP) .
• Product and Process Audits at suppliers, Supplier Requalifications.
• Follow-up of measurements and actions defined out of Process Series and Supplier Audits.
• Analyze parts quality problems and coordinate the problem solving process
• Compilation and translation (Chinese to English/German) of relevant quality documents
• Decision on the suitability of potential suppliers for Global Sourcing in terms of Quality Management Parts.
• Quality Management Parts -Contribution to the supplier pre-selection and supplier selection.
• Evaluation of risks and supplier qualification costs.
• Decision on required supplier measurements and actions to assure and improve parts and process quality.

Qualification

• University degree in electrical / mechanical / automotive engineering
• Minimum 5 years experience in Supplier Quality Assurance in the automotive industry (OEM or Supplier) in a Purchasing or SQA-Department.
• Experience in process and product quality and related manufacturing processes
  (e.g. machining, stamping, injection molding, die casting, aluminum casting, manufacturing process of electrical & electronic components, tooling).
• Experience in Product- and Process Audits.
• Good knowledge of Windows and MS-Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook …).
• Good Knowledge of Quality Methods and Quality Tools (e.g. Poka-Yoke, FMEA, 8D-Report …).
• Chinese and English fluent; good knowledge of German language desired.
• Basic economics knowledge.
• Familiar with Statistical Process Control and statistics calculation methods.
• Good understanding of technical drawings and quality specifications.
• Ability to work in a team, good communication skills, ability to assert oneself, keen perception.
• Strong Quality Awareness and Target Orientation.
• Intensive knowledge about Chinese mentality, culture and conventions.
