You will ensure that the Suppliers delivered quality of parts to BBA, achieve the targets and goals set, using competent production, logistics and maintenance processes throughout the whole process. Furthermore you manage supplier problem resolution through the 8D process. To provide supporting performance measurement media which will be reported to the supplier and to BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. Management as required. You will also manage the competence of the suppliers processes by participating in Audits the subsequent problem and countermeasures report developed through auditing the supplier.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Suppliers Quality Targets set and Weekly/Monthly prepare supplier performance measures.
• Through the 8D process manage the evaluation problem resolutions from the suppler to ensure robust solutions are achieved.
• Through participating in process audits, (VDA-6), promote, develop and maintain supplier processes, by following up improvement plans that are developed as a result of an Audit.
• Continuously monitor supplier performance measures and provide information when deviations occur, support the management of the supplier escalation process, problem resolution and improvement processes.
• Continuously monitor the skills requirement within the Internal SQA Team to ensure the base of knowledge is compatible with Body Shop requirements. Support the development of plans to fill the Skills gaps where necessary.
• Support Body Shop investigating internal quality issues and assist and coach teams through the problem resolution process to develop jointly robust solutions.
• Support the regular review of the supplier’s performance, using 1/4ly, Monthly or weekly review meetings whichever is seen as necessary. (Not Escalation Meetings).
• Support the introduction of Engineering Changes and steer the supplier to achieve the target dates, and confirm the result of the change through the ISIR Process.
• Consider and understand the Paintable Body Process Chain and ensure the compliance of the relevant processes are those used throughout the BMW organisation.
• Support the New Project Introduction with involvement in Project Performance reporting, ISIR Process, Master Sample setting, Press Shop support.

Qualification

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Quality Management or similar educational background.
• Background in Automotive Industry.
• Experience in Quality Management.
• Several years experience in Body Shop, Press Shop, Toolroom and Paint Shop.
• Knowledge of Press Tooling, Press Shop, Body Shop, and Paint Shop processes.
• Knowledge of Quality Systems, Quality Management and VDA Environment (SPQM/RMT) and VDA 6 Audit requirements.
• Proficiency with BMW Network Systems, QSYS, DZA, Prisma etc..
• Knowledge of BMW Target Setting processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Utilities, Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook etc..
• Proficient English, German would be an advantage.
• Ability to work in a team and very good communication skills.
